Welcome One and All!

For all you Halloween Fanatics....this will be a review and links site of the Best Haunted Houses in the country that my wife Lisa and I have had the pleasure - or displeasure - of gracing....

I've been a *huge* Halloween and horror fan since I can remember...I dunno...it just brings the kid in me out...by the end of September, our place is suitably adorned and we await each weekend with anticipation of which haunts to hit next....

We've been blessed enough to be able to travel quite a bit around the country and see some wonderful attractions and the cities they lurk in...and we're hoping to pass on the fun we've had on to anyone willing to listen in....

BLOODVIEW - Broadview Heights, Ohio - No Masks, No Scripts, No Equals

Broadview Heights, a quiet little community outside of Cleveland, Ohio, hides a tremendous Halloween treat - Bloodview - the area's ultimate interactive improvisational experience for more than thirty five years running.

Bloodview is presented by the Broadview Heights Lions Club and is built and staffed by The Legion of Terror, the World's oldest improvisational horror acting, makeup, and special FX production company and organization.

Check out the haunt's site at www.bloodview.net  - also be on the look out for their Facebook page - and the Legion's site is located at www.legionofterror.net

Also worth mentioning is that Bloodview is a charity haunt, and have, over their thirty five year history, donated over three million dollars to charities like SADD, City Mission, Dare, and Sight First to name just a few.... every actor is a volunteer.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to come across Glenn Glimore and Melissa Gilmore - both former production coordinators and currently acting staff with Bloodview - at last year's Midwest Haunter's Convention - they were conducting several seminars that we attended, noticed our HAUNTACST t-shirts, inquired about the show....and, well... I think you can guess the rest...

There are no animatronics or CGI here at Bloodview - and no masks, either - these people are dedicated to their craft of characters, putting the best they have to offer into their performances

Incidentally, two member of the make-up staff have been featured on FACEOFF - Becki was in season 2, and  David Greathouse (a.k.a. House) is competing  (very well, I might add!) in the current season...see below for photos!

What else goes on after dark? Ah, go check them out for yourselves!

I want to express my sincere debt of thanks to Melissa "Grimmy" Gilmore, and, in particular, Glen Gilmore, for taking the time for a personal behind-the-scenes tour and treating my wife Lisa and I with the utmost consideration and respect. I also want to thank to Mandi Doll for her assistance and William Saikotic Bogard for all his help with the photos adorning this month's blog. Couldn't have done it without any of you! Also to all the members of the Legion of Terror who befriended us - we can't name everyone - but you know who you are and we'll see you in 2013!

Next time around, we're off to Louisville, KY to check and up-and-coming haunt that'll put you in the Hot Seat for sure - see you in thirty days when we poke around The Devil's Attic....

Until then, STAY SCARY!

 Mandi Doll at her finest....
